as an artist and educator living in denver i'm curious about these experiential "exchanges" between the public/audience and the mca as an institution, and it's very exciting to see dynamic approaches to engaging audience, but what i wonder is why this conversation seems to always skirt a concern for accessibility. a tech savvy audience is certainly a population, but undoubtedly and audience with access to that technology. the mca denver has been promoting itself as "open source", or "the museum without a front door", so am i to believe that engagement and voice (via a commenting online profile, or a museum that never locks/closes) is an extension of this proposed ideology. just wondering if i understand the terms as presented by cydney payton and the mca, and how transparent that truly is.
