		<description><![CDATA[I really do admire the Kickstarter ethos, and think that the philanthropic donations of the many can lead to a richening and broadening of the art world for us all. It&#039;s certainly the future for collaborative idea-sharing and idea-execution!

It&#039;s just a shame that Kickstarter can only be used by those with a US bank account, which pretty much means it&#039;s open for only US artists. I hope it changes soon.

I first heard about it when An Xiao&#039;s story popped up on my twitter feed. Even though we didn&#039;t know each other at all, I was happy to contribute to a fellow artist doing something cool. I like the way this funding model takes the power away from an elite few &#039;gatekeepers&#039; and fosters genuine links between artists and people who choose to fund them.]]></description>
