The great apostle whom Jesus said he would make “a fisher of men” is referenced by the great curtain of netting that weighs down between the outstretched arms. The empty area where the torso and head should be glow white, reminding us that the Holy Spirit first descended on Christ’s followers in the shape of a sacred flame. Simon Peter as archetype is fully embodied through materials alluding to the tales of his life, the traits of his character.
