Tabaimo unveils new work in Australia, Jeff Koons takes over H&M in New York, Diana Al-Hadid is coming to Ohio, and more in this week’s roundup.

  • Tabaimo: Mekurumeku is at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (Sydney). The show features six of Tabaimo’s video installations, including two new installations that, “respond to the Museum‘s architecture, peeling back the walls to reveal the ocean outside,” says curator Rachel Kent. This is the artist’s largest solo exhibition to date. Closes September 7. Follow #tabaimo and #MEKURUMEKU on Twitter and Instagram.
  • Sculpture by Diana Al-Hadid is on view at the Columbus College of Art & Design’s Canzani Center Gallery (Columbus, OH). Al-Hadid “explores notions of traditional architecture while adapting elements of painting, stagecraft, and suggestive, open-ended narratives.” Closes October 11. An artist talk is scheduled for September 25 at 6:30pm.
  • John Baldessari’s National City is on view at the Richard Levy Gallery (Albuquerque, NM) through July 25. The series—created between 1996 and 2009—consists of eight color photographs embellished with Baldessari’s iconic hand-painted acrylic circles, each in a different grayscale tone.
  • Jeff Koons has taken over H&M’s Fifth Avenue flagship store (New York, NY), curating a mini exhibit to coincide with his retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art. H&M’s six-story façade is covered with a picture of Koons’s yellow balloon dog and the phrase “Fashion loves art.” Jeff Koons: A Retrospective is at the Whitney through October 19.
