Writers-in-Residence

In the fall of 2014, the Art21 Magazine joined forces with CUE Art Foundation to create a joint fellowship for emerging writers. Selected writers are paired with a mentor, developing their writing under the tutelage of an established art critic appointed by the International Association of Art Critics USA Mentoring Committee.

The Writer-in-Residence shares an in-depth look at an exhibition currently on view at the CUE Art Foundation, while occasionally contributing additional articles related to the issue’s theme. In May 2017 the Writer-in-Residence program transitioned into an Educator-in-Residence program, in which an alumnus from the Art21 Educators program is invited to contribute education-related articles to each issue.
